Checkout monitoring for small Shopify stores

A broken checkout looks like a slow day.

Parcyo shops your store every hour, on a phone and on a desktop, right up to the payment step. When something breaks, you get an email that says what broke, instead of finding out after the ad money is gone.

  • Nothing to install
  • Never places an order
  • Alerts only after a second check agrees

Free for 14 days, no card and no automatic charge. Alerts start by email. Then $19/month if you keep it.

Pre-order: $19/month, charged the day you pre-order and then every month until you cancel. Cancel any time from the link in your Stripe receipts. When the Shopify app launches, you can move to billing through Shopify and we'll credit or refund what you paid here.

Checked again at 14:01, still broken

The last 24 hours

hourly check confirmed, emailed

  • 24 checksa day, each on a phone and a desktop
  • 2 checksbefore any alert, less than a minute apart
  • Every countryyou sell to gets its own checks, at an address you give us there

How it works

Each check runs on a phone and a desktop, 24 times a day, and your store's page always shows how the last one went.

  1. 01Shops your store

It opens a product, picks a size or color, adds it to the cart, opens the cart and goes to checkout.

  2. 02Fills in your test address

It types the business or warehouse address you gave us. Then it checks that your shipping options, prices and payment methods show up, including cards, PayPal and Shop Pay. Without an address it still checks shipping, but not payment methods.

  3. 03Stops before payment

It stops on the payment page. It doesn't type an email or a card number, so nothing can be charged or ordered.

  4. 04Checks again, then tells you what broke

If a step fails, it tries again within a minute. Only a repeat failure becomes an email that says what broke and what changed on your store since the last good check. Your store's page shows the product page and cart we saw. The subject line says what broke.

    • PayPal button disappeared from checkout
    • Standard shipping went from $5.00 to $15.00
    • Add to cart stopped working after someapp.com appeared on your store

Real catches

Three problems nobody had noticed

The hourly checks turned these up on a Shopify store. None of them showed an error, and nobody had noticed them.

  1. A subscription couldn't be paid for. Checkout showed the shipping options, then said the store couldn't accept payments, and the order button stayed greyed out. One-time products checked out fine, so testing those would never have shown it. The alert's subject line was "Checkout can't take payments".

  2. The theme promised free shipping from €50. The free rate in the shipping settings only started at €65. A cart between €50 and €65 was told shipping was free, then charged €7.99 at checkout.

  3. The cart count went invisible. Once something was in the cart, the count in the header disappeared. The theme had no cart drawer, so that count was the shopper's only sign that add to cart had worked.

What it catches

These are the checkout problems Shopify owners complain about most often on the Shopify Community forums and Reddit. We broke a test store in each of these ways and made sure Parcyo caught every one.

  • Products show "Sold out" while they're in stock

The product page or add to cart button says sold out, but your catalog says it's available.

  • The size or color picker breaks

Picking an option does nothing, snaps back, shows the wrong price, or puts a different variant in the cart.

  • Add to cart does nothing

The button is missing, greyed out or covered, the cart stays empty, or the cart drawer never opens.

  • An app or theme update breaks buying

The email says whether it came from your theme or an app, when it can tell.

  • No shipping at checkout

Checkout says it can't ship to your address, an option vanished, or a price changed.

  • One country can't buy

Give us an address in each country you sell to and each one gets its own check.

  • A payment method disappeared

PayPal, Klarna, Shop Pay or cards are gone, checkout was left in test mode, or there's no way to pay at all. This one needs your test address.

  • Checkout won't open

The button does nothing, checkout shows an error or a blank page, your store is down, or the password page is still on.

What it can't see: anything from the moment a shopper presses pay, like a declined card; Apple Pay and other problems that only show up in Safari; breaks inside the Instagram or Facebook app; and problems on one shopper's own phone.

What an alert looks like

Breaks that stop sales come by email. Each email says what broke and on which device. It also lists what changed on your store since the last good check, such as a new app or a theme switch, so you know what to undo first.

Example only. Store and app names are made up.

What changed since the last good check (13:00)
  • New on your store: someapp.com

What it never does

It shops like a careful customer who never buys. Your orders, ad numbers and abandoned-cart emails stay as they are.

  • Never pays or places orders

Every check stops before payment, so there's never a test order to cancel or refund, and your stock counts don't move.

  • Types only your test address

We never type an email, phone number or card. Without an email or phone, Shopify doesn't record an abandoned checkout, so your recovery emails stay quiet.

  • Stays out of your ad reports

Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, Snap and Klaviyo don't see our visits, so no fake add-to-carts or checkouts land in your accounts.

  • Adds nothing to your store

You don't install an app or touch your theme. We only need your store's web address, plus a test address if you want payment methods checked.

How this compares

Other checkout monitors exist. This is what they cost and how far into checkout they go.

ParcyoThat's us$19/mo after a free 14-day watch. Checks every hour up to the payment step, and sends an alert only when a second check fails too.
Revenue Shield$39–79/month. Watches revenue patterns across more of your sales channels. It isn't built specifically for checkout.
Shoptest$99+/month. Tests much more of a store than checkout, and the setup suits a team with someone doing QA more than a solo owner.
StoreWatch QAFrom $9/month. Its checks stop before shipping options, so a broken shipping step or missing payment method can slip through.

Parcyo is for a small store that wants the path from product page to payment checked every hour.

Start your free 14-day watch

Give us your store's web address and where to send alerts. Add a test address if you want payment methods checked too. We'll email you a link: click it and the hourly checks start within about an hour. We test the product you name, or pick one ourselves. If your store is still behind a password page, sign up once it's open: we can't check behind one.

  • Nothing to install
  • Never places an order
  • Alerts only after a second check agrees
Test shipping address (optional)

Your business or warehouse address, never a customer's. Every check types it into your real checkout to make sure your shipping options and payment methods show up. If you leave it out, we can check shipping but not payment methods.

We never type an email or card details, and we never place an order. If you add an address, fill in every field.

Any name works, for example Test Shopper. It only goes into your checkout form, which we never submit.

Only if your checkout asks for one.

Expected price (optional)

We compare this with the price shoppers see on your product page, or at checkout for an offer page, and email you if it's higher. Sales and discounts never trigger it. Leave these empty to skip.

Where your shoppers buy: a product page, like https://yourstore.com/products/linen-tote, or an offer page, like https://yourstore.com/pages/summer-offer. A product's handle alone works too.

For example 32.00

Questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. Nothing is added to your theme. We need your store's web address, and a test address if you want payment methods checked.

Which address should I give you?

Your business or warehouse address in the country most of your customers buy from, never a customer's. Any name works. We only type it into your checkout to see the shipping options and payment methods a shopper there would see.

Will checks create abandoned checkouts or emails?

No. We never type an email or phone number, and Shopify only records an abandoned checkout once one of them is entered.

Will the checks show up in my analytics or ads?

Meta, Google and TikTok don't see our visits, so they stay out of your ad reports. Shopify's own reports may still count a visit.

What happens after the 14 days?

The checks stop by themselves and we email you the pre-order link. We never took a card, so there's nothing to cancel.

Which stores does this work for?

Shopify stores using a Shopify theme, once they're open to visitors: we can't check a store behind a password page, so sign up once yours is off. Custom-built storefronts aren't supported yet.

Next time your checkout breaks, you'll hear about it within the hour.

Send us your store's web address and click the link we email you. The free watch runs for 14 days from the first check.
